Official Rules
1. No Purchase Necessary. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. The Dr. Schar “Bread for a Year” Online Sweepstakes is open to all Schar Club members. If you are not yet a Schar Club member, you can join the Schar Club and become a Schar Club member instantly (at no cost) by fully and properly completing the registration form at www.schar.com/us/new-member/. All requested information, including a valid email address, must be provided. Upon joining the Schar Club for the first time, you will be automatically entered into this Sweepstakes. If you are already a Schar Club member, you can enter this Sweepstakes at www.schar.com/us/bread-for-a-year by clicking on the “Already a Schar Club member? Click here to enter the sweepstakes via e-mail with your existing profile” link, and then upon receiving our automatically generated Sweepstakes entry email (sent to the email you provided with your original Schar Club registration), send the fully and properly completed Sweepstakes entry details (first name, last name, e-mail address or Schar Club username, and ZIP/Postal code) to info@schar.com as instructed.
2. Sweepstakes Period and Eligibility. This Sweepstakes is being conducted by Dr. Schar USA, Inc., of 1050 Wall Street West, Suite 370, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071, and its promotional agencies (the “Sponsors”). The Sweepstakes begins at 6:00 p.m. ET on December 14, 2011 and ends promptly at 6:00 p.m. ET on January 20, 2012 (the “Sweepstakes Period”) and is open to all Schar Club members that are legal residents of the 50 United States, plus Washington, D.C., and who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Officers, directors, representatives and employees, and members of their immediate families and households, of the Sponsors, and their affiliates and anyone else involved in the production, development or handling of this Sweepstakes are not eligible to enter. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable laws. INTERNET ACCESS AND A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER. ALTERNATIVELY, YOU MAY ENTER USING FREE INTERNET ACCESS, AVAILABLE AT LOCAL PUBLIC LIBRARIES AND OTHER PLACES. FREE EMAIL ADDRESSES ARE WIDELY AVAILABLE (e.g., Gmail.com, Yahoo.com, Hotmail.com, etc.). All entries must be received during the Sweepstakes Period. Proof of transmission does not determine or prove Sponsors’ date of receipt. Sponsors’ designated, centralized computer is the official timekeeping device for this promotion. Entrants agree to be fully bound by these Official Rules. The Sponsors’ decisions are final on all aspects of the Sweepstakes. Limit one (1) Sweepstakes entry per Schar Club member, per person and per email address. Multiple entry attempts beyond the stated limit may be rejected. All entries become the property of Sponsor upon receipt, and Sponsors may use any information you may provide in connection with Schar Club registration during the Sweepstakes Period and thereafter to contact you for the limited purpose of informing you about Sponsors’ products and promotional offers from time to time, provided that you will be given the opportunity at any time to “opt out” of receiving further information and promotional offers. In no event will your personal information be provided by Sponsors to any third party. No responsibility is assumed by Sponsor for lost, late, stolen or misdirected entries, or any failure or unavailability of electronic communications or Internet connections. If the integrity of the Sweepstakes is compromised in any manner, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate the Sweepstakes and/ or to modify it in its reasonable sole discretion and randomly select winner(s) from valid entries received that are unaffected by the problem. At Sponsor’s election, any and all Sweepstakes materials (including Schar Club registration materials) are void for purposes of this Sweepstakes if incomplete, or if they contain material errors or inaccurate information
3. Selection and Validation of Winners. A single Prize Winner will be selected at random in a random drawing to be conducted by the Sponsors at or about 8:00 pm ET on January 20, 2012 from among all valid entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. A total of three (3) alternate winners will also be selected. The selected Prize Winner will be contacted by email to notify him or her of selection and to start the validation process. Sponsors are not responsible for erroneous e-mail or for notifications that go into “Spam” or “Junk” e-mail boxes, or for e-mail addresses that otherwise do not allow for effective notification, and in such event, the prize will be awarded to one of the selected alternates. The randomly selected Prize Winner will be required to sign and return within three (3) days of delivery to his/her email address an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Prize and Publicity Release. Prize Winner must agree to have his or her name appear on the Schar Club website or newsletter and/or in Schar Club email blasts as the announced Prize Winner of this Sweepstakes, and must agree to release Sponsors for liability in connection with this Sweepstakes. In the event a selected Prize Winner is over 18 years of age, but is considered to be a minor as defined by the laws of his/her state of residence, then his/her parent(s)/legal guardian must also sign all requested documents. Failure to comply with Sponsors’ documentation requirements may result in disqualification and the awarding of the prize to one of the selected alternate winners. .
4. Prizes/Odds. This Sweepstakes is open to approximately 200 million internet users in the U.S. Odds of winning depend upon the number of valid, eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. The Prize Winner will receive the following quantities of Dr. Schar branded gluten free products: 24 loaves of Multigrain Bread, 24 loaves of Classic White Bread, 12 loaves of Classic White Rolls, 12 bags of Ciabatta Rolls, 12 bags of Sub Sandwich Rolls, 12 loaves of Baguette.12 loaves of Multigrain Ciabatta Bread, 12 loaves of Deli Style Bread, and 1 box each of Chocolate Hazelnut Bars, Chocolate Dipped Cookies, Shortbread Cookies, Snack Crackers, Graham Crackers, Chocolate Sandwich Crèmes, Vanilla Wafers, Chocolate O’s, Table Crackers, Italian Breadsticks, Cheese Bites, and Vanilla Sandwich Crèmes (ARV $760, and with shipping, ARV $1,000), to be divided into roughly equal installments and delivered on a monthly basis to the Prize Winner’s specified, single street address in the U.S. (no PO boxes permitted) over a period of 1 year. All products will have a minimum shelf life of 3 months as of delivery. Upon validation, the Prize Winner will receive his or her prize by mail or other courier delivery service at Sponsor’s expense. No cash or other substitution or transfer of a prize is permitted by Prize Winner. If any particular element of the prize becomes unavailable, Sponsors reserve the right to substitute another Dr. Schar branded product of equal or greater value determined at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Taxes and any expenses not listed above are the responsibility of the Prize Winner. Allow 4-6 weeks after validation for commencement of receipt of prize.
5. Prize Winner Name: The Prize Winner will be posted on-line at www.schar.com/us/bread-for-a-year/ during the period February 1, 2012 – February 15, 2012. You may also mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope by February 15, 2012 to: DR.
