Some of the world’s leading researchers on celiac disease gathered in Oslo, Norway last week to discuss recent findings and new initiatives in the gluten-free world. The 14th International Celiac Disease Symposium (June 20th to 22nd 2011) featured lectures and discussions of prominent celiac experts, including Dr. Alessio Fasano, Dr. David Sanders, and Dr. Carlo Catassi.

However, the link between celiac disease symptoms and gluten has only been known for a short time, great strides have been made in the diagnosis, awareness, and even in the gluten-free diet.

When we think of June we think of Dad for father’s day, graduations, June weddings, and the beginning of summer vacation – in other words celebrations!!!
May is a month that always brings feelings of new beginnings as we are able to get outside more, we honor our Mothers and our fallen military. It is also Celiac Disease Awareness month.
A tour of Schär was a welcome addition to the holidays of roughly 35 travellers with coeliac condition who were staying at the Hotel Weiss in Rabland in the Vinschgau valley.
